All tours board at the hotel at 7:45 AM and return to the hotel at 12:00 PM.
Lunch is at the hotel at 12:15 PM.
Tour 1: Kentucky Tobacco Farm

Visit a local tobacco farm and see this strange weed. Meet the farmer and learn how it's grown and cured. Plans include a second stop at the Highland Rim Research & Education Center. This experiment station is known for its research in cow-calf management and dark-fired and burley tobacco production efficiency. Note:The trip to the farm is about 45 minutes; be prepared to be outside on the farm. |
Tour 2: Tennessee Farmers Co-op

Visit the headquarters for this farmer-owned co-op that serves 57 member cooperatives in Tennessee and five surrounding states. The 143-acre complex includes product distribution, on-site metal fabrication (gates and feeders), and an automated feed mill. This is a very popular farm tour and site for farm programs in Tennessee. |
Tour 3: Nissan Automobile Plant

Begin with a brief tour of Fort Negley, largest of a group of forts built by the Union, and the largest inland masonry fort built during the Civil War. This includes and indoor interpretive center ans well as form remains overlooking Nashville. See the Family Activities for more information. Then tour Nissan's Smyrna Automobile Plant. Note: Children under 5 are NOT allowed. Participants must wear long pants, shirts with at least a 4-inch sleeve, and closed-toe shoes. NO flip-flops or open-toed shoes are allowed. Cell phones and cameras are prohibited. Goggles and helmets (provided) may be required. Absolute maximum limit of 50 participants. |
Tour 4: Hatcher Family Dairy & Tennessee Agricultural Museum

Hatcher Family Dairy is a working dairy and agri-tourism farm. They process and retail milk products. Tour includes milking, processing, and the farm store. The Tennessee Ag Museum is an indoor/outdoor museum of agriculture spanning two centuries in the region. Displays include cotton and tobacco, as well as the familiar grains, equipment, implements. |
