2019 NFBM Conference Tours

Wednesday is Tour Day! Begin your day with a Buffet Breakfast at the hotel from 7 - 8 AM for registrants and families. Buses will leave at 8 AM SHARP for Tours 1 & 2, 7:45 AM for Tour 3. Tour choices are as follows:

Tour 1: Kohler Design Center & Factory (Kohler, WI) website Follow KOHLER	The “Industry in Action” factory tour is for anyone who has ever wondered how a KOHLER bathtub or faucet was made. The tour tells the history behind the nation's largest plumbing fixture manufacturer and takes visitors through numerous buildings– pottery, brass and foundry– where everything from vitreous china bathroom sinks to KOHLER enameled cast-iron baths. The tour includes information about Kohler's innovative Arts/Industry program. PARTICIPANTS MUST MUST BE AT LEAST 14 YEARS OLD CLOSED TOE FOOTWEAR MUST BE WORN NO CAMERAS ALLOWED
Tour 2: LaClare Farms (Malone, WI) website Follow LaClare Family Creamery	Dairy goat farm, creamery, retail shop and café. This is an integrated educational agriculture tour where you will learn about dairy goat farming and the many items that are produced on-site at the creamery from goat's milk.
Tour 3: Maritime Museum & Cobia Submarine (Manitowoc, WI) tour full website Follow Wisconsin Maritime Museum	Experience Great Lakes maritime history at the largest maritime museum in the Midwest, and the first Smithsonian Affiliate in Wisconsin. Take a guided tour of USS Cobia, the nation's most completely restored WWII submarine. Learn even more about the everyday life of the Cobia crew in their newest exhibit: “USS Cobia Below the Surface: Submarine Simulation Experience”. You can also operate a triple-expansion steam engine, stroll the streets of an historic Great Lakes port, scan the harbor through a periscope, explore some of the spectacular boats made in Wisconsin, and explore their Suspect Species Investigation Lab.

Following the morning tours, all groups will convene at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center for lunch and the afternoon tour:

Lunch will be served in the 300-person capacity conference center.
