2013: Kansas City
Our destination for the 2013 Conference is Overland Park, Kansas, located in the southwest Kansas City metro area. The conference site, the Doubletree by Hilton, is located near I-435 and Highway 69 on College Blvd. and within walking distance of the Shops of Corporate Woods. Nearby is also the Oak Park Mall, Indian Creek Hiking & Biking Trails, Nerman Museum, Schlitterbaum Waterpark and the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
Kansas City, known as the
City of Fountains, is home to the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City Zoo, Kansas Speedway, Crown Center, Harry S. Truman Sports Complex– home of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, New Theater Restaurant and the Power & Light District. Other sites include the American Jazz Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, National World War I Museum, Nelson– Atkins Museum of Art and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.
Whether learning how greeting cards are made at the International headquarters of Hallmark Cards or watching how a "hog" is assembled at the Harley-Davidson Operations plant, you are sure to find a multitude of diverse and fun attractions while in Kansas City.
